Sweaters For Men By Polo Ralph Lauren

Adding a few pairs of sweaters to the wardrobe, especially from a high-end brand like Polo Ralph Lauren is not a bad idea. If the goal is to keep yourself warm, staying stylish at the same time is always better.

I’m a sucker for sweaters, not the thick and heavy ones, but the ones that are light in weight. The ones you can wear like a shirt with a Peacoat, leather jacket or just the sweater itself with jeans (like this one: Varick Slim Straight Jeans).

Since I’ve teamed up with Ralph Lauren, one of my favorite brands, I decided to go through their fall/winter catalog recently and came across some awesome sweaters.

I’ll start with a few personal favorites:

Fair Isle Merino Wool Sweater

The ‘Ralph Lauren’ Brand

The Corporation, Ralph Lauren, started in 1967 with men’s ties. Lauren was 28 years-old when he worked for the tie manufacturer, Beau Brummell. He persuaded the company’s president to let him start his own line. Drawing on his interests in sports, Lauren named his first full line of menswear ‘Polo’ in 1968. He worked out of a single “drawer” from a showroom in the Empire State Building and made deliveries to stores himself.

Today, the Ralph Lauren manages a total of 17 fashion brands and 4 lifestyle brands across 493 directly operated stores in 30 countries. For more detailed information on the timeline of the business, you can go here.

Ralph Lauren, the Man

We know that fashion trends come and go. But Ralph Lauren remained close to what he always believed in: selling not just clothes, but a lifestyle. The business he launched went on to earn him $1 billion and as well as earned him a spot in design history.

Born on October 14, 1939, Lauren grew up in a middle-class Jewish household and shared a bedroom with two of his three older brothers. Possessed of an innate fashion sense from birth, he took some part time jobs early on to fund his penchant for designer clothes. His chosen course of study, however, was business, although he left the course at City College in Manhattan before receiving his degree.

Today, Lauren is worth $6.3 billion.

My Favorite Quote by Ralph Lauren

“Style is very personal. It has nothing to do with fashion. Fashion is over very quickly. Style is forever.”

  1. That blue cable knit sweater at the top is sweet. I love the pants and belt shown with it. It’s a perfect combination. Are they available as well?

I never knew Lauren worked for Beau Brummel. I used to shop at Beau Brummel’s store in NYC when it was there in my younger days.

  2. I agree wholeheartedly with the quote you shared from Ralph Lauren. I want the washable cashmere sweater for myself. I’ll just push the sleeves up and say it was a gift. Then I can be fashionable and cozy without answering why I’m wearing a man’s sweater. 🙂

  3. Wow. I think you should not say you are sucker. No one could be perfect. It just takes time to practice. I believe you could get better if you keep trying. I could also believe that you are going to be a good designer.
